I was told not to take anything cooling during the pregnancy
until the last 3 wks. Then u can start taking coconut water,
korean ginseng, bird nests etc so as to avoid jaundice in
the baby. Hv not heard anything like that abt bfing diet
except to avoid alcohol, coffee, tea. The rest of the diet
depends on what yr baby is allergic to (if any).

I was able to take orange and apple. In fact was hving lots
of them. The main fruit to avoid was papaya.

I heard abt this hormone also. Seems that it's released
during bging time for both the baby & mother to relax. The
baby is then able to go to sleep and hence relieves the mom.
The mom can then relax so that the milk production for the
next feed can start.

I know I get very angry with Sheralyn in the middle of the
nite when she wake me up from my precious sleep. I'll get
angrier if she refuses to suck (latch-on problem?). But once
she starts sucking, I'll feel relaxed. Thank god this period
is over!

Not sure if bf makes me more protective of Sheralyn than ff.
All I know is that

(1) I hated the sight of milk bottles. Esp. true when my MIL
asks me if she can supplement a bit since bm don't make
Sherlayn full. Her idea is that baby must sleep after feed
if not they're not full.

(2) Sheralyn much closer to me than anyone else though I may
spend less time with her compared to my MIL or auntie. Only
I can make her stop crying by carrying and bfing her! My DH
says she only want mummy esp. when she's hungry cos mummy
got milk.

(3) I get worried when she cries. Got very angry with my
husband when he just lets her cry. Maybe it bcos she's my
first baby.

Anybody felt jealous of yr DH's relation with the kids? I do
sometimes esp. when Sheralyn likes to "talk" to him more
than me though he's not involve in looking after her except
playing with her and carrying her to sleep.

Asides from nutrition, this was one of my main reasons to bf & to
continue at it. With Daniel, we were getting a maid, and with Sarah
being quite a demanding child (knowing her temperament), I knew we might
need to depend on the maid a bit to help with Daniel. So I wanted to at
least have this time with Daniel - to breastfeed him. No one else could
do that! (at least no one would probably want to try!).

I don't feel jealous about my children being close to their Daddy. I'd be so
glad that they are! Nick is quite good with both Sarah & Daniel. I'd only
be jealous if my children are close to the Maid! Not so much of a danger
with Sarah. She's really close to me since we were her primary caregivers
from birth. Daniel's the one who tends to be left with the maid off & on.
So far, he will still come to me if he sees me around ("forgets" me and
plays happily if I'm "out of sight"). For that, I'm glad.

The other reason I wanted to bf was that at least I might not need to
"police" my maid so stringently about cleanliness if Daniel was bf. He does
not get sick quite so easily b/c of that. Of course we can't prevent
viruses though.

Wow! Sarah's page is terrific especially the music part. I like it. She
is so lucky! I'm interested in the Duplo Creation, is it in Singapore? I
wish I could bring my son to visit. Anyway I'm too lazy to build & to
learn how to build a web page. However I could post Casey's photo in
here which was took when he was 8mth.

I think I ate anything while I was pregnant, even pineapples. My girls are
active, healthy, and never had jaundice when they were born. Except Debbie
who had a bit of jaundice.
The only thing I avoided was "kunyit" ( tumeric ), and saffron, which my
mom said could cause jaundice in a newborn. Maybe its true, because Debbie
( youngest ) did have jaundice when she was born becos by the time it came
to her turn, I was just too lazy to abstain from anything at all and I ate
lots of malay food ( which I suddenly felt passionate about ) which contain
lots of tumeric I believe. ( Stuff like lontong, yellow rice etc etc )

I don't jealous either if the girls are close to their papa. I think it
looks really sweet when they hug and kiss him and want to spend time with
him. Just this afternoon, William came home early from work, and the girls
were so delighted they just ran to him and showered him with kisses and sat
next to him, and later shared their apples with him because as Denise put
it , " My papa, so poor thing, only have coffee to drink. At least now, he
has apples in his stomach too ! "
Isn't the wisdom of kids so wonderful ???

By the way, Sam, I loved the pages on Daniel and Sarah! They look adorable
! Did Daniel make that Duplo creation himself ?
My kids love Duplo and Lego freestyle too and can spend a long long time
playing with them!

Hi, Chris!

"Duplo" is a range of toy blocks for baby to 5yrs. It's from the Lego
Brand. All the blocks from "duplo" & Lego can fit together. Very good for
creativity. Casey would probably only know how to throw them around at the
moment, I'd think! Unless he's a Genius!

I always think babies are soooooooo cute!

If you'd like, I could post those 2 on a simple webpage for you & link it
from my Family Page ("Links to Friends") like the one I did for "Baby Kendyl".

Vivi is very close to her Daddy too, and I'm not at all jealous. On the
contrary, I'm happy to be able to have some free time to myself every
evening when she plays with Daddy! I hope the new baby will like Daddy as
much. ;)

I'm not sure if this has been covered before....but I was just curious what
are your kids favourite cartoon characters?
My kids love Barney.
Did u know you can buy Barney video cds from Bedok central at only $10
each? My dad just bought a couple for my kids the other day.
Other fave characters are : Pooh bear, Bananas in Pyjamas, Mr Men and
Little Miss, Mickey and Minnie and Thomas the tank engine.
Just curious about all the other kids
